A keepsake that lasts

A soul bead, a ring or earrings need only very little hair. Gitte can also set an animal’s ashes in them, and human hair works too.

  1. Cut a strandA finger-thick strand from the tail, as long as possible and cut right at the root of the tail. Do not wash it.
  2. Into an envelopeWith a note giving your name, your address, email or phone number and a short description of what you would like.
  3. Design it togetherOnce the hair reaches Gitte, she gets in touch and you work out the right design together.
  4. Photo for approvalWhen the piece is finished, Gitte sends you a photo. If you like it, you pay and she sends it to you.

Frequently asked questions

How much hair does Gitte need?

For a bracelet, Gitte needs a finger-thick strand from the tail, as long as possible. For pendants and earrings a small strand is enough, for beads very little.

Can I use hair from a dog or cat, or ashes?

Yes, for soul beads, rings, pendants and earrings. Gitte uses hair from horses, dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs, an animal’s ashes and human hair.

Where do I send the hair?

Send the envelope to Nordkap, c/o Birgitte Arnason, Øster Kjulvej 2, 9850 Hirtshals, Denmark. Include a note with your contact details and what you would like.

How much does a piece cost?

The configurator shows the price of each design, shipping is always included. A guardian angel costs 100 DKK, heart-shaped earrings 300 DKK, bracelets start at 400 DKK. For a piece made entirely to your wishes, Gitte sends you a personal quote.
